Public bug reported: I just ran upgrade manager on my Dell Precision M4600 and it upgraded the kernel to 3.2.0-40.64 from precise-updates (I was previously using 3.2.0-39.62, also from precise-updates).
Now it just doesn't boot in normal mode. It does so in recovery mode (and using the old 3.2.0-39), but when I choose 3.2.0-40 plain, it just goes black and I don't even see a line added to /var/log/syslog. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "ubuntu release" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169775/+attachment/3646076/+files/relase.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169775 Title: Notebook will not boot at all after upgrade to linux- image-3.2.0-40-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1169775/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
