Public bug reported:

I just ran upgrade manager on my Dell Precision M4600 and it upgraded
the kernel to 3.2.0-40.64 from precise-updates (I was previously using
3.2.0-39.62, also from precise-updates).

Now it just doesn't boot in normal mode. It does so in recovery mode
(and using the old 3.2.0-39), but when I choose 3.2.0-40 plain, it just
goes black and I don't even see a line added to /var/log/syslog.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Attachment added: "ubuntu release"
