Up date

I opened a xterm then entered the following commands

"cd /usr/share/applications"
"sudo mkdir problem"
"sudo mv gedit.* ./problem"

and that seemed to work.

I know what the commands do (make a directory
/usr/share/application/problem them move any file with a name starting
with gedit into that directory.) now hears the bit I dont understand.
Why can I still see the app in the menu and why can I still launch it?
I would have though by doing what I did it would have made a submenu
"problem" and put gedit into it why not? or if there is no link from
directory to menu how can E17 know how to open the the file or where to
find the file the menu item is linked to?

O well if the answers don't come up then I'll go on just knowing it just
did work.
