** Summary changed:

- Unity GUI hangs often with Radeon HD 7950
+ Unity GUI hangs when double clicking dash/launcher or clicking and holding
down mouse button

** Description changed:

- I am using a Radeon HD 7950 with the latest fglrx beta (catalyst 13.3).
- The problem, however, even happens with fglrx in Ubuntu repositories. It
- seems most likely to occur when I am opening a lot of windows too
- rapidly, although it is completely random. It is guaranteed that at some
- point in time the GUI will freeze. However, I have noticed that it does
- not freeze if not being used (I can safely go AFK for 12 hours and come
- back to a responsive GUI). The only fix is to move to a different tty
- session, sudo killall lightdm, then sudo lightdm and log back in.
-
- I seem to be able to force it to hang by clicking and holding down the
- mouse button on the Unity launch bar.
+ Using Radeon HD 7950 with fglrx. If I double click or attempt to drag an
+ icon in the launcher/dash the GUI will stop responding (but the mouse
+ will render just fine). If I move to a different tty session and back,
+ it merely shows a black screen and my mouse cursor. The only way to fix
+ it when this happens is to sudo restart lightdm.
