Hi James, I think this is a generic issue for all platforms. With AMD graphics card and fglrx driver, this problem can be easily reproduced with steps below: - connect two monitors to the graphics card - install the fglrx driver - run aticonfig --initial=dual-head -f (two screen sections will be specified in xorg.conf) - restart X - there is no window manager on the second screen, and the display is totally white for the second screen (LP#885989, this issue can be workarounded by kill the nautilus process)
BTW, "DISPLAY=:0.1 compiz &" can be used to launch compiz on the second screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885991 Title: no window manager on second screen for dual head mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/885991/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
