Looks similar, yes.

But 888362 claims to be present in Natty (11.04) while 1084461 says
that Precise (12.04) is affected but the package from Oneiric (11.10)
works.

This may be the same issue, if an Ubuntu patch causing this issue
(Debian is not affected at all) has been removed for Oneiric but has
been reintroduced for Precise.
