Public bug reported: I suppose that after the latest update of xserver-xorg on my Ubuntu 12.10, it somehow introduced a bug which stops me from reaching unity.
The screen gets black after successful login, then some console output appears, then the nvidia logo, and then I am presented with the login screen again. I have tried changing the "Driver" to "Vesa" in my /etc/x11/xorg.conf, but no avail. This bug is very serious as it renders my ubuntu installation totally unusable in the current state.
