I believe I understand why this is happening:

Lets say for an example that U are using XGL from the QUINNS' repo! Such
as I was. And so by installing XGL from it, U are upgrading a lot of
other libraries, that your system depends on them. All is is good until
some packages or applications won't work with newer libraries, like
GNOME-CORE-DEVEL. These packages require the older LIBRARIES to work but
XGL requires the new ones!

See the dillema?

Can anyone confirm/deny this? Cos I've never quite understood why is it a 
problem installing newer LIBS and adding other REPOS until this explanation 
came into my mind?

Well if this explanation is true than am gonna post it on
UBUNTUFORUMS.ORG since am sure that a lot of fellow UBUNTUERs have been
wondering the same thing.
