XChat fails to launch since it crashed after enabling and then disabling
the "display timestamp" setting. When launching from the terminal, this
error message results:

(xchat:3379): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: instance of invalid non-
instantiatable type `(null)'

(xchat:3379): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion 
`G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
