Just posting this as a potential workaround in case other users experiencing the same issue find this bug. When I was using Simple Locker or Screen Saver after the upgrade (from 12.10) I got no unlock dialogue, and thus no way to unlock the screen. However, after some experimentation, I found that the "Desktop Widgets" option did work, and allowed me to lock and unlock. To enable the Desktop Widgets option, go to System Settings > Display and Monitor (under Hardware) > Screen Locker, and select the Desktop Widgets option.
To try to get the other options working, I uninstalled xscreensaver and gnome-screensaver, to no effect. I then uninstalled kscreensaver and kscreensaver-xsavers, and now everything seems to be working correctly. So there *may* be an issue with one of those two packages and the new KDE. So to anyone experiencing this issue, I'd recommend either trying Desktop Widgets for your screenlocker, or removing xscreensaver, gnome- screensaver, kscreensaver and kscreensaver-xsavers. It may be just the latter two, or perhaps one of them; I didn't test extensively, just thought I'd share what I did to get it working. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174605 Title: No unlock dialogue after locking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-workspace/+bug/1174605/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
