Hello guys, I Have the same problem. Every time i plug in a external monitor, the launcher, the menues and the windows frames are missing. To work normally after that, I have to restart my computer.
I think this error is a compiz problem, because every time when this happend a error is shown, where the Executable Path links to compiz. I think the problem could be the graphic card: I have a HP Probook 4720s.
