Thanks Robert, I've done a clean install of Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit and performed something like 30 shut down and restarts. I was delighted to see that there was no hanging on shutdowns or restarts at all - not even once!
Along the way, I tried the default Nouveau driver, and the nvidia-310 and -313 drivers. There were no mount/unmount messages displayed under the Nouveau driver (though it's possible they occurred and just weren't displayed on the screen). I had mount/unmount messages just about every time under the nvidia-310 and 313 drivers. I have not tried to use the machine for anything else, so I don't know whether the new patches have introduced any new usability issues. I'll leave it on the Nouveau driver and use it for a few days and see how it goes. It will be interesting to see how others get on. Thanks again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170911 Title: umount error messages during shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sysvinit/+bug/1170911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
