Public bug reported: There is currently (according to http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/amd64/lightdm/filelist) no lightdm.conf.5 man page which explains the file format and available options. The canonical documentation seems to be /usr/share/doc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.gz which should be converted to a man page.
