UPDATE: HDMI sound was working fine on Ringtail with 3.9. After this bug was "fixed" in In order to be in mainstream, I returned back to 3.8 with 3.8.20.36 generic (from main Canonical repo). And HDMI card disappeared again from PulseAudio sound manager! Returned to 3.9 - no success, it is lost now... Checked, no dkms used.
So, as a result of a "fixed" kernel release 3.8.20 - problem returned again, kernel upgrade not working anymore... No HDMI sound. ---- Sergey Mitrichev (for-serg) wrote on 2013-05-08: #65 Saleh's workaround with oem_dkms did no worked for me (radeon 6450A on Lenovo Q180 amd64).
