Hi Tim, thank you for reporting this issue and helping make Ubuntu
better.
The "whitelist" fallback mechanism for old "systray" icons was finally
removed from Unity in 13.04 (bug #974480). Since yesterday, Cryptkeeper
has an indicator menu (bug #571473), but it's only in the Saucy
development version ATM. So this is already resolved, and if the fix is
needed in Raring as well, you can file a backport request as described
in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports#Requesting_a_Backport
