I have the same problem with the downloaded version in Xubuntu 13.04 (raring).
Also, I cannot compile a version. The build shell scripts do not work. It says it finds CLucene, then it says it cannot find the library, etc. So there is no version of Bibletime available to use. And I really need Bibletime, since it is one of the most useful tools I have for my work. But, enough complaining. God bless the guys who created it! It has been extremely useful.
