You did set CONFIG_USB_DEBUG correctly, as witnessed by the fact that
the debugging directories and files now exist on your system.  (Actually
the HID section in your .config file is only two lines long; it ends
after the "CONFIG_USB_MOUSE=m" line, but the end isn't marked in any
way.)

The sound being played doesn't matter, so long as the sampling rate is
the same on both the buggy and working kernels.

You can attach the entire file; it isn't tremendously big.  What I
really need to see are the lines marked with "sitd", plus at least one
representative of the various "qh" lines.
