Public bug reported:

This chipset can be found in some IBM thinkpads and a Gateway solo 5300
notebook. I'm sure it can be found elsewhere its pretty common.

Booting knot2 iso its unable to detect the cdrom. The hd is seen as
scsi for some reason i.e. /dev/sda.

I was able to install via a dist-upgrade from a dapper install on this
machine; however, the problem persists after reboot.

The hd is seen as /dev/sda instead of /dev/hda, and the cdrom on hdc
will not function. On boot system halts for 30 seconds while ata2
timesout.

I used hwinfo to find out more information and hwinfo --ide returns
nothing; although, hwinfo --scsi returns that the ide controller is
using modules "ata_piix" "sd" and "libata"
