On restarting my computer, the unusually-named tmp directory was as you might expect no longer there.
On restarting k3b the unusually-named tmp directory returned. It had the same format, with the same apparently random characters: /tmp/kde-<username><5-random-characters>. The contents of this directory, I forgot to mention before: a file called xauth-1000-_0 Again, problem solved by creating a tmp directory: /tmp/kde-<username> The upshot of this problem is that k3b will never work out of the box for me. I will always have to create a tmp directory before I can get it to burn a disc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103075 Title: Can't burn a cd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/k3b/+bug/103075/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
