Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have noticed a problem in update-manager and it is being there for a
long time. The problem is with packages which download the content via
proxy while installing. I have a proxy configured in the system and it
works fine. update-manager uses proxy settings and works well too.
However the packages like flashplugin-installer and ttf-mscorefonts-
installer can not fetch their data while installing via update-manager.

If I do the command line installation "sudo apt-get install flashplugin-
installer" or "sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer" it works
fine. With update manager configured to use proxy these two packages can
not be installed because they can not download the content.

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
