I did a clean install of 13.04 64-bit on my brand new XPS 13 Developer's
Edition laptop and let it pull the latest updates. It is now running
kernel 3.8.0-23-generic.

The back-light control does not work. When I use the control, the on-
screen 'progress bar' pops up and goes up and down per my key presses,
but the actual brightness of the display does not change.

I also tried the test kernels linked to in post #23 (and updated on May
1st, apparently). The brightness control does not work with it, either.
