Dhinakar is right. Ubuntu 13.04 refuses to mount USB external HDD with NTFS partition. It was working flawlessly on 12.04 LTS for me. The sad thing is that I have important backup documents on there and I would like to access them while on Ubuntu. Hope to hear from Canonical about the fix ASAP.
