Public bug reported: Finally I have a means of reproducing this reliably and feel like I can file a bug.
This may be hardware dependant. The driver concerned is snd_hda_intel, device is 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05) Reproduce : * Play music in Rhythmbox * While music is playing, visit http://www.maiagame.com/ * Audio playback breaks horribly with lots of high pitched interference and stuttering * Closing browser does not fix this condition * Pausing music does not fix this condition * `killall pulseaudio` fixes this condition Any apps with an open audio stream will not reconnect to the new pulseaudio process, (Rhythmbox reconnects for next track , or have to restart the app for video players, reload the page for YouTube, etc).
