I had the same problem with my USB3.0-card. lspci -v showed Kernelmodule xhci_hcd in use.
I blacklisted this module: sudo echo blacklist xhci_hcd > /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-xhci_hcd.conf For acpiphp Kernelmodule: sudo echo acpiphp >> /etc/modules After reboot everything worked.
