The PPA in #19 has worked for me, too. I am on Xubuntu 13.04 amd64 3.8.0-25-generic (now: -26-) with a pure Intel Sandy Bridge system - no proprietary driver, but quite complete installation (but with XFCE as only window manager). I crete many xterms by a script which crashed the XFCE session deliberately. After installing the fix/PPA my system is stable. Will this fix enter the standard raring repository soon ? Many thanks for the fix/PPA !
