Public bug reported: Migrating https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/913933 to current release. I installed GnomishDark theme from http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GnomishDark?content=147290 because I strongly prefer dark background. I used gnome-tweak-tool to set my window and GTK theme to GnomishDark Now Ubuntu Software Center appears with light text and a light foreground.
See the screenshot at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /software-center/+bug/913933/+attachment/2664871/+files/software- center.png It appears to take the text foreground color from the GTK theme, but ignored the theme background color. I first encountered and reported this in 11.04 but it is still in 13.04 (Xubuntu 13.04) but the original bug was closed as Invalid as oneiric have reached EOL # lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 13.04 Release: 13.04 # apt-cache policy software-center software-center: Installed: 5.6.0-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 5.6.0-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 5.6.0-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1199049 Title: Ubuntu Software Center displays light text on light background when using dark theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1199049/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
