I've got a T40 with Fiesty Fawn installed and the HIBERNATE_MODE fix did nothing. Strange thing is when I reboot I get sound on the Username screen, (that's the sound of bongos) and then nothing. The volume control has a red crossed circle over it, and clicking on it brings up a dialog saying something to the effect: "...GStreamer plugin isn't installed or the soundcard isn't configured..."
