I am seeing this problem when trying to install Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS on a Lenovo ThinkCenter. I have been installing two similar PCs before that did not have this problem.
This installer just says the whole disk is empty but there is already Windows 7 on it and Ubuntu does show the partitions in Nautlius after canceling the installer. The only difference between the 2 working PCs and the one that is not working is: For the first 2 Windows 7 was installed on the whole disk so I had to resize existing partitions. That worked and I could install Ubuntu on the so-created free space. For the other PC I recently installed Windows 7 so I chose partition size a bit smaller to leave some free space on the disk for Ubuntu that does not contain a partition. Maybe this free space does cause the problem? ** Also affects: ubiquity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags added: precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416499 Title: Installer doesn't recognize Windows 7 NTFS partition properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubiquity/+bug/416499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
