Please see below link. When pulling the menu down kwin crashes. Worked out with KDE team. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322830 In short, kwinactive is missing (or needs to be renamed?) running ln -s /usr/share/kde4/apps/kwin /usr/share/kde4/apps/kwinactive prevents crash.
