The above patch solves the ftbfs and installation problems. Note that to be able to run the program succesfully in GUI mode the Sun JVM is mandatory (a Dependancy has been added). I also took the occasion to make a general clean-up.
NOTE FOR THE ARCHIVE ADMINS: Since the package depends on sun-java6-bin it needs to be moved from the universe to the multiverse archive. Thanks. PS.
