Correction: Machine is Lenovo W520 with Nvidia/Intel graphics (not T520, don't know why I mistyped that)
I am in the closing stages of a large project with a serious deadline. I will not be able to reinstall things until the end of September. I'm really sorry. In this case it would entail switching from Kubuntu to Ubuntu, redo my whole dev-setup and work with it for a several days to make sure the issue was gone.
