Several years ago, before AMD abandoned the Radion driver for this card, I used displayport on a single monitor. I switched to dual link DVM when I added a KVM (was unable to find a KVM that supported displayport at the time, and I needed it to support HDMI). So I don't think I have ever seen the open source driver work with Display port, but for a time the closed sorce driver did.
