In English version the Preferences window has the correct size at 10pt
fonts. If 8pt fonts are used, some boxes get truncated. If 14pt fonts
are, some boxes get too big. It is possible that the Preferences window
size has it's predefined width:height ratio. The width is based on fonts
size and the height is calculated using the mentioned ratio, which leads
to truncated/too big boxes in case of small/big fonts.
