It also happens to me in a laptop, although the mouse and keyboard don't
completely freeze, sometimes they work so slowly that it looks that they have
frozen.
I've got a CPU monitor in the screen, and when the almost-freeze happens, the
CPU monitor doesn't show any increase in the CPU usage, if I use the "top"
command it also doesn't show any high usage of the CPU, the "hard disk led"
doesn't show any activity, .
I've got Kubuntu 11.04 in another partition, and if I boot with it, that
problem never happens.
