Post 39: Addendum - in other words, I found I was able to install your linux-image* files on a live (installed and booted from hard disk) Ubuntu system, while the booted from LiveCD (via USB) and also the uck- gui customization sessions have been problematic, therefore I'll see what your post 38 recommendations do, otherwise I can install from tar files I made.
