No it was already in 13.04 as far as i remember, that's part of the reason that made me start beta-test with Saucy. I'll do some further test when I can. The point is that I think i didn't have to specify "acpi_backlight=vendor" in ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 to be able to configure lightness. But as i might not remember well it would help if some others Inspiron 5521 users came around this topic. It's actually not that clear for me what ubuntu is doing when it crash, is it suspend to ram ?
(to be confirmed again) but I noticed that it doesn't crash if I manually start the sleep mode with "sudo pm-suspend". Also, I'm surprised to see that in my gnome power management setting everything is set to "don't suspend" (when on power and when on battery). ** Attachment added: "upower.policy" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1214287/+attachment/3795168/+files/org.freedesktop.upower.policy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1214287 Title: [Dell Inspiron 15R 5521] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1214287/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
