Side note: There might actually a better solution in newer kernels: if you install the daily DKMS package ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS ) you will get this too.
Then edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and add this line: options snd-hda-intel jackpoll_ms=250 ..then reboot and test. In case the sound card is not the first hda intel sound card, you might need to add more, like this: options snd-hda-intel jackpoll_ms=0,250 or options snd-hda-intel jackpoll_ms=0,0,250 ...depending on which card you want to change. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874535 Title: Volume Slider Jumps, due to rapidly changing hardware jack sense state To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/874535/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
