Colin, I try to backport the patch into precise to make a test, so that I can verify if it could fix the issue in 12.04.
I found the code is very big difference, the patch doesn't work for precise. lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/saucy/grub2/saucy And I also try to build source from the latest grub2 in your lp in my pbuilder.
