Sorry for the late call, but the Ubuntu Touch's multimedia team has been working on GStreamer 1.0 support in qtmultimedia, and it has resulted in relatively invasive changes. For that reason they are suggesting a forked and renamed qtmultimedia to have alongside official upstream version, until there's an upstream version which contains all of the needed support.
