Public bug reported: Please sync steam 1.0.0.39-2 (multiverse) from Debian unstable (non- free)
Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception: steam isn't in Ubuntu yet (except a totally different package with the same name in lucid). steam is a very popular gaming platform so it would be nice to have an easy way to install it. The .deb package provided by the vendor unfortunately adds its own repository to the APT source list without even asking.
