there is currently nothing in the sdk that causes focus to be removed from the input field and the keyboard to be hidden automatically when tapping on a background area of an app or dash.
the app/dash needs to explicitly remove focus from the input field on a tap and this should cause the osk to hide. the current work around is to manually swipe the OSK away, which is not ideal. there is also a related bug about osk not becoming visible after swiping away on dash: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-keyboard/+bug/1228155 ** Also affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1230006 Title: OSK does not dismiss on single tap to background To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-keyboard/+bug/1230006/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
