there is currently nothing in the sdk that causes focus to be removed
from the input field and the keyboard to be hidden automatically when
tapping on a background area of an app or dash.

the app/dash needs to explicitly remove focus from the input field on a
tap and this should cause the osk to hide. the current work around is to
manually swipe the OSK away, which is not ideal.

there is also a related bug about osk not becoming visible after swiping away 
on dash:
