Thank you, I've updated the original report. There are many reasons to
want to have another Bitcoin application in Ubuntu sooner than later, I
tried to summarize.

** Description changed:

  electrum - Easy to use bitcoin client

+ Rationale: Bitcoin has gained significant adoption and would benefit
+ from being supported as soon as possible by a stable, proven client such
+ as Electrum, in addition to Bitcoin-QT. Electrum can be installed
+ manually but making it part of the distribution beginning next cycle
+ would make it easier to install, update and test, and would provide a
+ choice for user wanting to use Bitcoin.
  
  This package was accepted in Debian testing on Sept. 12.
