System now totally hosed. I think the partial kernel install screwed up something horrible. Cannot get Unity to run. Can get Gnome running at about 800x600 (on a 1920x1080 screen), but that is about it. Cannot find anywhere to get the screen to reset. Nvidia thinks I do not have an Xdriver installed and doesn't work any better after I run its recommended 'nvidia-xconfig'. I could seriously use some advice here, especially from the guy that suggested I install a new kernel.
