This bug is still in kubuntu 7.10 tribe 4 on Asus M2n4-sli, athlon 5000+x2,2 gb ram, and Nvidia GF8600 With the noapic option I can boot but then I loos mouse and keyboard.
this bug have been in Debian Lenny but is now gonde.Maybe look at those solution???
