Ever since a recent update I get this problem after using an X client remotely over ssh. It seems they may be (incorrectly) overwriting the ~/.Xauthority file, preventing the local X server from starting on the next login.
The X server failing to start because a remote application has been run is not a Unity problem. Perhaps an xlib problem? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228570 Title: Login often fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1228570/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
