Thank you @penalvch for your help and support but it was too difficult to upgrade my system as I need it and since my tools are working I didn't want to risk it at the moment. As soon as I find some time I 'll work on it.
Solution: I purged the xorg-edgers repository and downgraged all the packages to the mainline precise updates. The system seems stable now and NO hangs occur. Probably some packages were causing the errors.
