For those who wish to help me figure this out. Here's the notable part of the boot log: [ 125.729819] vmhgfs: disagrees about version of symbol vmci_datagram_destroy_handle [ 125.729823] vmhgfs: Unknown symbol vmci_datagram_destroy_handle (err -22) [ 125.729865] vmhgfs: disagrees about version of symbol vmci_datagram_send [ 125.729867] vmhgfs: Unknown symbol vmci_datagram_send (err -22) [ 125.729907] vmhgfs: disagrees about version of symbol vmci_datagram_create_handle [ 125.729909] vmhgfs: Unknown symbol vmci_datagram_create_handle (err -22)
Don't know which version of vmci it is: Package or Kernel The current incarnation of my prep branch (which I updated 30 minutes ago) is taking vmci completely out of the package equation (as in DKMS doesn't notice it during the build process). Since you didn't specify which VMware product you're using I'm going to assume it's the new version of Workstation/Player/Fusion possibly available.
