speaker-test -c4 -t wav -Dhw:0,0
speaker-test 1.0.25
Playback device is hw:0,0
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 4 channels
WAV file(s)
Channels count (4) not available for playbacks: Invalid argument
Setting of hwparams failed: Invalid argument

it is because max_channels is still 2 when speakers are not in
multi_outs

you need the driver to put those four jack at same location into
multi_outs to set max_channels to 8
