Same problem on my Dell XPS 15. The interesting thing is that it happened while navigating Google Maps in Chrome. Switched to a terminal using CTRL+ALT+F1 and back. When switched back, the interface responded for a few seconds, and hanged again. Before hanging again, Chrome was able to show the message "Rats! WebGL hit a snag".
