@Brian Murray (brian-murray) and that is not a bug ??? Then upgrading makes no seance at all plus I have upgraded from Ubuntu from 13.04 to 13.10 (before the final beta) with x.org edger's ppa and so much more junk installed and upgrade worked without a problem.
