Public bug reported: Following upgrade to 13.10 my trackpad was working fine, but I had been having suspend issues. Apparently, last time I closed the lid on the laptop, it didn't suspend, as when I retrieved it today, it was dead. After starting the computer, the trackpad was no longer working.
I do not think that this was following a kernel upgrade, but the page at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection suggested that non- detection is a kernel issue.
